MISSION
Looking to the ascended Christ as our guide, we walk His well-worn path together, being formed through liturgical worship, a life of prayer, intimate community and shared mission.

Biblical: We teach Scripture with depth, clarity, and conviction. Through careful, Spirit-filled preaching and teaching, we seek not novelty but to make Christ present through his Word.
Historical: We participate in an inherited faith rooted in the creeds, councils, and prayer book. This shapes our liturgical approach to worship and forms us through rhythms that have guided Christians for centuries.

Sacramental: We believe Christ meets us through tangible means of grace – the bread and wine of the Eucharist and the water of Baptism. The sacraments are sacred, formative encounters with a loving God.
Prayerful: Prayer is the atmosphere of our life together. Through daily rhythms shaped by the Book of Common Prayer, we learn to adore, confess, intercede, and listen.

Communal: We are formed through shared life, not isolated belief. We have a diverse, intergenerational community, and within it, people are known and discipled.
Missional: As His body, we are sent as His hands and feet. We serve Tomball and the surrounding areas and partners across the Kingdom and carry a heart for church planting as the natural overflow of knowing and loving God.
What We Believe
Church of the Ascension upholds the following as its standards for belief, worship, and conduct:
JESUS. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father but by Him.
SCRIPTURE. The canonical books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, containing all things necessary for salvation, and are the final authority and unchangeable standard for Christian faith and life.
SACRAMENTS. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Eucharist) are the Sacraments ordained by Christ Himself in the Gospel, and thus are to be ministered with unfailing use of His words of institution and of the elements ordained by Him.
CHURCH ORDER. The godly historic Episcopate is an inherent part of the apostolic faith and practice, and therefore integral to the fullness and unity of the Body of Christ.
CREEDS. The three Catholic Creeds: the Apostles’, the Nicene, and the Athanasian, are proved by most certain warrants of Holy Scripture and confess the historic faith of the undivided Church.
COUNCILS. Concerning the seven Councils of the undivided Church, we affirm the teaching of the first four Councils and the Christological clarifications of the fifth, sixth and seventh Councils, in so far as they are agreeable to the Holy Scriptures.
WORSHIP. The Book of Common Prayer as set forth by the Church of England in 1662, together with the Ordinal attached thereto, is a standard for Anglican doctrine and discipline, and, with the Books which preceded it, as the standard for the Anglican tradition of worship, along with such other liturgies and ordinals authorized for use by the Bishop of the Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast, such is the Book of Common Prayer (2019).
REFORMATION. The Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion of 1571, taken in their literal and grammatical sense, express the Anglican response to certain doctrinal issues controverted at that time and express fundamental principles of authentic Anglican belief.
GLOBAL COMMUNION. The Jerusalem Declaration, in particular, its affirmations of the nature of marriage and human sexuality, the stewardship of God’s creation, the relief and empowerment of the poor, and the diversity of the body of Christ, describes the standard for the faithful witness of global Anglicanism.
